Rural Development Foundation has initiated its first projects starting with January 2000. They are particularly focused on training the young people. In order to achieve its task, FDR has developed a contact network with all the forces involved: population, economical agents, authorities, and others organisms operating for the development of Romanian rural life. Thus, Rural Development Foundation is open to any offers of cooperation, both within the already existing projects and in the new ones.

The project aimed at training and exposing 8 young Romanian students/farmers to modern farming concepts and skills in Western Europe.

The participants of this exchange programme were 10 persons with decision-making power in terms of development of new educational programs for food - industry and agricultural schools and universities in Romania, collaborators of RDF.

Within this project, 15 young Romanian students from the University of Agronomic Sciences and Veterinary Medicine, Bucharest, participated in a 12-weeks course in Denmark, which contained both classroom teaching and practical exposures, in the field of the production, processing and marketing of organic produces.

The Rural Development Foundation is the promoter of a World Bank project for a period of 3 years, titled: "Supporting Romanian farmers to valorise local resources through the identification of market opportunities" ? World Bank, Contract no.: 1513/sept. 2002
The aim of the information and training of Romanian Farmers to capitalize local resources as well as to establish some marketing and supplying structures in order to increase their competitiveness on the market.
The Foundation was also the Romanian Coordinator of an international human resources management project "The enforcement of the farmers possibilities of association, with special focus on the necessity of environment protection", financially supported by the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, developed at AgroForum ? Aarhus-Denmark (2002).
